This is our favorite Christmastime drink but we have it year round. Nothing warms you up like a cup of Wassail. In the past we have filled mason jars with it and given them as our Christmas treats. It fills the house the smell of Christmas. Yum!
Tricia’s Wassail Mix
1 cup Tang powder
1 1/2 cups of lemonade powder (Country Time)
2 cups sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Add 2-3 rounded teaspoons to each hot cup of water.

i’m going to have to try this. i think my husband could live on tang! haha…it’s really hard to find where we live, though, for some reason.
I love this picture of the mug! I made wassail once for a work party and i got so much grief over the name, lol. They loved it anyway.
I am not a big drinker of wassail BUT goodness that red mug and the bokeh ~YUM!
beautiful red!
mmmmm . . . sounds very delicious and warm, just what i need as i sit at the computer by the window freeeeeezing.
we used to have a Tang drink at Christmas–with instant tea–called Russian Tea. It’s very similar.
Georgia–same recipe we just omit the tea. It is so yummy!
i make a similar tea every year at Thanksgiving to enjoy throughout the season only i use instant tea instead of the lemonade. We call it Russian Tea.
oh never mind i just read the other comments.
good either way.
Oh, I remember this so well from my childhood. I haven’t had it in forever. It’s just not cold enough down here. I think I’ll make some to take this weekend though. I’m going to visit my kids in Austin before they all deploy.
