I have been trying to come up with a project for 2009. I have a tendency to over think things, over schedule, over analyze, you get the picture. So this year I decided to just do a 365 project–a picture a day for a year. I chose the 366-1 group. It should not be too hard–I do that and more already. I want to add some other projects within this project through out the year. Projects that I know I could never do a full year of. Like a year of mornings, a year of evenings, 365 bokeh (I could do that one), 365 days of self portraits, and so on.
After all this I have decided to do a year of mornings. I was doing the 366 group and then it felt a little over moderated. So I shifted to a year of mornings and this will take a little more commitment on my part but I think I can handle it. In 2009, I want to add being more decisive to my list. =]
Is anyone doing any special projects this year?

Great shot! I love these types of projects. I’m starting a Year of Mornings project today and I’m continuing my 365 project I started in August to document the first year with my first DSLR. The group you joined sounds fun!
you can do anything leaca! i loved this one on flickr!
i’m sad to say I have not even begun to think about a new project. You’re so creative and productive it amazes me. I just hope to keep my blog going through my daughter’s first year of college.
Good luck on your projects. I just finished my 365 and I must say it is very fulfilling.
Happy New Year Girl!
I’m going to *attempt* a 365 project as well, but still haven’t decided on a group, if any. I’m looking forward to seeing your mornings…no doubt they will be beautiful!
Well, I almost hesitate to say this but I am doing a project…I hope I can stick with it. I am calling it ‘one day – twice’. The idea is to do two pictures each day. I hope I can do this because it will motivate me to ’see’ at least twice in a day…..so, happy shooting to us in 2009! xx BTW, your photos are just getting better and better.
I’m working on multiple photo memory quilts, a family cookbook and photo books for each of my Greats. Along with those I’ll be reminding myself to remain true to my bohemian ways and photograph the stuff I love.
My plan is to get a shot of my lake from the same spot for each season, we’ll see how it turns out.
I’m not sure what project I want to do – but I’m always inspired by your shots. Mornings are done so well by other people that I don’t want to copy that….I think I want to dwell on either inspirations or aspirations.
That sounds like a great project! I’m thinking of doing a 100 strangers project…seems like a perfect follow-up to my self-portrait project that ended up being 100 too. Although I won’t try to finish it in a year…now that I know how un-commital I am!
Can’t wait to follow your project!
i can’t wait to see whatever it is you come up with. i love checking in on you and seeing your photos and what you’re up to. thanks for all the inspiration!!
I’m just looking to shoot everyday, and learn, learn, learn. I joined the 366-1 and another 365 group.
I can’t wait to sign every morning now and see your new photos!!
I am thinking of something like photos from my table…it is the center of my home and I already love the light there…but not sure…. I started “MONDAYMOMENTS” with a quote during the school year since I am a teacher so I will keep up with that.YOU are really an inspiration too me!
I like the 100 strangers project but I can’t decide if I am bold enough yet. =[
MondayMoments and kitchen table shots sound fun.
Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to see what we all come up with this year.
Wow, a photo project for the year that is so nice! I will look forward to follow what you do as I love your photos – the post of last years favorites is great! I’m going to try to write a poem each day in a little notebook I got for Christmas! Last year I did an art card for each day!
Good luck, and happy new creative year!
goodness this is my first visit to your blog and i have enjoyed myself immensely! you have wonderful links to such artful photographer, your interviews are a show in themselves and i see we have many mutual friends. i can’t even remember how i got here….
i decided on a list this year and will add to it as i accomplish things. my blog began as a 365 self-portrait challenge although it morphed into something entirely different and i have been happily blogging ever since!
i have totally been toying with the 365 idea…
and to be honest,
i’m a little nervous to commit to it…
especially right now
when it is dark when i leave,
dark when i come home.
but perhaps,
that is a bit of a cop out…
i don’t know.
i’m still on the fence.
i’ll come down on one side of the other soon.
:O)
but i look forward to seeing what you
come up with for your projects…
xo
The good thing about 365 projects is the growth. You grow so much as a photographer. I am ready for some real growth these days. I want to improve my family photography as well. The list never ends.
Thanks everyone for sharing. You all have such great ideas.
My boss has been doing this for YEARS. It’s such a cool project!
I’ve already failed at my 365 for the year. I do love the idea of a year of bokeh though….hmmm
I have a friend who did this project last year and the thing that I loved about her final project is that at the end she said, “I missed 14 shots but at least I finished!” I loved that she did not give up on it. I think we have this idea that it has to be perfect. I don’t think so. We just have to keep plugging and get rid of those thoughts of failure.
so exciting! can’t wait to see it unfold!
