Shutter Sisters has an article by Traci Clark about blurred photos that I thought was interesting. I have also been reading a lot of interviews from my favorite photographers who have given the advice of not overlooking your blurry shots. I have been trying to follow that advice and embrace the blur. I did some searching a couple of weeks ago and found this group on flickr full of blurred shots and I think I am converted. =]
Do you embrace the blur? Share some shots with me.

i really like the above photo – it looks like a painting. i have many “soft” photos because i don’t like to use the flash – i don’t mind it – it still captures the moment for me.
your photo is really well done and I like the header as well most of the time my blurs are accidents that i like.
I like my shots on the softer side though none are lovely blurred as this one.
I too do not use flash and so mine can tend to have a blur too. With our lack of sun I was thinking of learning to use my external flash and bouncing light.
My blurred shots are accidents too and I normally throw them out, until recently.
“embracing the blur”…I love it! And the new header is really nice.
I like the mood it sets. Great “blur/soft” photo!
I have JUST starting keeping some… but it’s hard for me. Mine never look as good as your shot above.
I love blur.

thanks for sharing. i don’t get over to ShutterSisters as often as i get to your blog, so i might not have seen this if i had not stopped by yours.

OH! Thanks for the link to that group. I keep some of my blurred shots of the boys (as they’re always in motion) because they look interesting. So thanks for the heads up.
Also, I’m going to throw a link to your blog here from my photoblog. I just randomly came across you on flickr and find you to be inspiring. I’m doing Project365 this year. (Well, I also attempted last year but failed. Alas.)
I’ve just started embracing the blur. To date though the photos that I have come across that are blurred convey no real meaning so they’ve been tossed as usual. But I’m a changed woman and won’t be so quick to delete if there’s beauty in the blur.
Love the photo.
this is fantastic Leaca! I love blurred shots and find them challenging to pull off. This one really works.
Your photo embraces the blur quite nicely!
I will need to give it a whirl!
Yes I do embrace it. See:

I am enjoying your blurred ones. One day I’ll dip my toes in the blurred pool…maybe
