I found this shop on etsy full of all things vintage. If you have followed my blog for any period of time you know that I love all things vintage. This little shop not only has cameras but hats, radios, typewriters, and the list goes on. Check them out.

I love that they take great images of their stuff too. I look for great photography everywhere these days and they are very creative in how they present their items.

Redoubt erupted again today. This is not my greatest shot ever but I love seeing the volcano looking over our seemingly normal little town.

I am sorry but I have to share the new ones with you. I have been doing fabric banners now. I love them. I could decorate every room with these. I see them and just smile. It does not take much to make me smile I admit. =]

I have been making these little banners for a couple of weeks now and I have decided to put some in an Etsy shop. I have made some for gifts and just kept on going. They are fun to make and even more fun to give.

Positive affirmations are a great way to bring a positive energy into your home or office and I have been doing this for years. I try to find creative ways to write positive words and post them around the house. If you want peace, more faith, creativity, success, love, or anything else, this is a great start.

If you all like these maybe I can do a give away in the future. Maybe another scavenger hunt?

Yvette can compose the most beautiful photos filled with simple everyday items. Her use of light and textures is breathtakingly beautiful. She is truly an artist. If you are not familiar with her work, you need to check her out.

1. What do you shoot with?

Right now with a Nikon D90, but I have a Konica Minolta which I adore and two vintage cameras, one of them for the TTV shoots that I do sometimes.

2. What is your favorite photo on flickr? (one of yours and one other

It was so much fun doing this with my boyfriend who had pose for me in many of my projects, that I would name this as one of my favorites…
There is so much meaning in this photograph, I really love the result.

Another photographer?

She’s awesome. The last photo that I recently add to my favorites is this one from her stream
Still winter... (by emiguez65)

3. What would be one tip for someone new to photography?
Find inspiration within, no matter what camera or lens you use, no matter the location or the model, what really matters is what you can see, the passion, the message, the essence. Details and the theory will be improving along the way.

4. If you had to choose between stills, macro, portrait, landscape,
what would you choose?

Macro and stills.

5. Who’s photography influenced you the most in the beginning stages of your own photography?
All the fabulous photographers that I had known on Flickr, with their photos, comments and flickr mails are still an influence.

6. Where do you get your greatest inspiration now?
I love being at home after work, taking care of my cats and my garden, going to the sea on Sunday mornings. My photos are the testimony of what I do, always trying to add some light, softness and poetry to my everyday life.

7. Who are your top five favorite photographers on flickr right now?
Ufff, they are so many talented photographers on Flick that for me, it’s really hard to pick just 5.

simply learing–etsy

I have been trying to learn more about Etsy these days. I am surprised that there is a whole other world in Etsy just as you would find in Flickr.

Chats–Here you can learn all kinds of things and you can advertise your shop. It reminds me of photophlow.

Treasury–I have blogged about Treasury’s before. They are a mosaic of items on Etsy. They only allow 333 of them so you have to either time it right or be there at the right time. I have one on there now. If your Treasury has a lot of clicks and views it can make it to the front page of Etsy.

BNR Treasury–I love looking through these and I just discovered what BNR means. People build a Treasury and in the title they include BNR, meaning buy-n-replace, a person will buy something from the treasury and then the curator of the Treasury will post something from the buyers shop in that Treasury. It is a great way to advertise and to gain sales.

Sneak Attack–A couple of times a week there is a sneak attack on an Etsy shop of the sponsors choice. They set a date and time to announce the shop and this is posted on this blog. Then everyone goes to this shop and purchases an item. It is usually a shop with little to no sales. Can you imagine having no sales one minute and selling out the next??? There is more info on the blog or there was an article written about it here.

Have a great weekend everyone!

breakfast (by Leaca's Philosophy)
breakfast–This week my daughter helped out with breakfast. *shocked* She stayed home from school on monday after her long season of bball she said she needed a mental day.
lemon–I love lemon water and I can’t seem to get enough of it.
salad–I can get too many salads and not want to eat them for a while but I have been loving them lately. Recipes here, here, and here.

Prints–I have been printing some of my images this week. I have been in kind of a slump lately and thought it would help. I shot these and after printing them off I fell in love with the image. One of my personal favorites. It is amazing how an image may not seem like much and then you print it and find a treasure. I am offering this one in my shop because I love it so much.

textures–I have been using a lot of these in my processing these days. I am just smitten with them. I love when people share.

–I am not much of jewelry wearer, I wear a lot of silver, the same stuff all the time. I love this shop. Her work is so vintage-like and her pieces so unique.

Sam Phillips–I just can’t get enough of her soulful lyrics. I think her album cover is the coolest, like her music was made for me.

#35 on my list can be semi-crossed off. Yay! I think I want different frames but I like seeing my stuff hanging on my walls just for the fact that it could be hanging on someones wall. I was surprised at how much frames cost but I was even more surprised how much framed art costs. Etsy is really a good deal; you can get an awesome piece of work for a low price, or better yet, you can frame your own work and save you even more.
